The life of Sampaguitas to me do not end when they are no longer fresh. I collect them as soon as they turn purplish brown so they will not rot after which I spread them on old newspaper to soak the excess water. When reasonably dry, I transfer them to a flat screen for air drying. It is not advisable to dry the flowers under the sun as the drying process is abrupt. This air drying process takes about 2-3 days. When the flowers turn crisp dry they are ready to be used as potpourri. To reinforce the Jasmin smell, I drop a few Jasmin oil concentrate on the dried Sampaguitas.

The buds should be collected when they turn slightly more brown. Dry by airing.
